VD vs CNY

sudah sampai di rumah...!

semalam lepas hantar yang lain2 dekat rumah masing2. aku dan pipa ke Jusco Tebrau sekejap. saja jalan2.. roommate aku ada pesan baju. jauh betul nak beli baju.. lepas parking kereta terus ke food court sebab sangat lapar. sambil jalan ke sana aku tengoklah sekeliling shopping mall fav aku ni.. aku ingatkan decoration untuk Valentine's Day yang akan jadi tema. rupa2nya CNY lagi kuat aura dia.. yelah, 2 celebrations on a same day..

untuk post kali ni aku nak share sikit tentang Valentine's Day. setiap tahun tak kesah la dari negara mana pun setiap pasangan kekasih akan tunggu hari ni. aku tak pernah tunggu. tak tipu! macam2 cerita aku dengar pasal sejarah atau legend of Valentine's Day.. walaupun macam2 version tapi semuanya yang tak elok tentang Islam.. sedih bila lihat umat Islam menyambut perayaan yang memburukkan agama Islam itu sendiri. yelah, apa yang kebanyakkan orang tahu, Valentine's Day is hari menyambut kekasih. tapi yeke? kat sini aku ada buat sikit research tentang hari berkasih-kasihan ni. tapi bukan tentang sejarah atau legenda, cuma sedikit fakta menarik:

  1. Approximately one billion Valentine cards are exchanged each year...the largest seasonal card-selling occasion of the year next to Christmas.
  2. February 14 is the most important holiday for florists, accounting for 32% of annual sales.
  3. 73% of people who buy flowers to send on Valentine's Day are male...only 27% are female.
  4. California produces 60% of American roses, but the vast majority sold on Valentine's Day in the United States are imported...mostly from South America.
  5. Approximately 3% of pet owners will give a Valentine's Day gift to their pet.
  6. Alexander Graham Bell applied for his patent on the telephone on Valentine's Day in 1876.
p/s: malas nak translate. semua faham kan? ok proceed.

yang ni aku nak share pulak rites & superstitious about Valentine's day. jangan percaya ye!
  1. Traditionally, if a young female is curious enough...and brave enough...she can conjure-up the appearance of her future spouse by visiting a graveyard at midnight on the Eve of Saint Valentine's Day and singing a prescribed chant while running around the church twelve times.
  2. In Wales, wooden love spoons would be carved and given as gifts. Favored decorations for the spoons were hearts, keys and keyholes...the decorations meaning "You unlock my heart!".
  3. It was once believed that if a woman noticed a robin flying overhead on Valentine's Day, it meant she would marry a sailor. If the woman saw a sparrow, the would marry a poor man, but be very happy. If she spied a goldfinch, it was said that her husband would be a man of great wealth.
p/s: yang ni pun malas nak translate.

sebenarnya banyak lagi fun facts about Valentine's Day. tapi takat ni je yang larat. esok lusa kalu ada mood aku tambah lagi ye! daa~

p/s: semua yang tertulis hanya untuk suka2. don't take it seriously ok? HEPI CHINESE NEW YEAR YAWW!
